A "USA-China, Inc.?"

   From the map of China in the US State Department web site, one can easily conclude that the United States of America apparently has already handed over Taiwan to People's Republic of China (PRC) according to China's "One China principle." Unfortunately, if you conduct an independent survey or a plebiscite in Taiwan today you would readily discover that this map is an insult to the reality and against the universal rule of self-determination and deprives the people of Taiwan of their human rights. This map also contradicts a US domestic law called the Taiwan Relations Act.

   The Taiwan Relations Act (TRA) was initiated by the US Congress and signed into law by President Carter on April 10, 1979. This law states that Taiwan's peace and stability are in the political, security and economic interests of the United States, and are matters of international concerns. As of this writing we know that there are more than 1,600 pieces of Chinese missiles aiming toward Taiwan which is in clear violation of the spirit of Taiwan Relations Act that holds the expectation of a peaceful resolution for the future of Taiwan. The aim of these Chinese missiles targeting Taiwan is nothing but to incite fears in the minds of the Taiwanese and deter Taiwan from moving toward proclaiming an independent Taiwan Republic by discarding the unlawful name of ROC. The ROC (Republic of China) was wrongfully imposed on Taiwan by  Chiang Kai-sek of Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) and their army was shipped to Taiwan by US vessels in 1945. After World War II General MacArthur asked Chiang Kai-shek to handle the surrender of Japanese troops on Taiwan on behalf of the allied forces. Yet the KMT and Chiang annexed Formosa (Taiwan) at the expense of Taiwanese that led to massive Chinese massacre of Taiwanese (Formosans) following the February 28, 1947 incident. After that the people of Taiwan had to endure the longest martial law in world history which lasted 38 years(1949-1987) and realized they needed to seek their own destiny and protect their best interest.

   Since the Taiwanese have elected KMT's Ma Eng-jeou in 2008 and re-elected him for the second term in 2012 under Ma's deceptive proclamation of his being a Taiwanese, all Ma's actions and policies have led the Taiwanese to believe that he is doing his best to sell out Taiwan to China under the radar. In particular Ma has concluded an Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) in 2010 with China to further facilitate a Chinese political absorption of Taiwan by giving China an economic edge over Taiwan. Ma's victory in the presidential elections of ROC reflects how much manipulation and control the Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) exerts in Taiwan under the shadow of "ROC constitution". It should not be interpreted as the Taiwanese leaning toward unification with the People’s Republic of China. Ma uses a whole array of political influences on the judicial system to persecute the politicians of the major Taiwanese opposition party DPP (Democratic Progressive Party). Ma also threw the ex-president of ROC, Chen Sui-bian (DPP), in jail without any concrete evidence of corruption for almost 5 years, since Chen's step-down in 2008. The way Ma's torturing Chen in jail is one of the most inhumane, heinous and despicable cases of treating an elected former leader of a "nation" in modern history.

  It is believed that a genuine democracy can only survive and fully develop in a truly free and independent society. Today's Taiwan carries all the potentials of achieving both democracy and independence yet is severely hindered from attaining both because of the existence of a foreign transplanted "ROC government“ run by the KMT. It is difficult to imagine that the US would turn her back on the people of this small island, whom Americans once held dearly in our hearts and established a domestic law to support them. The China map of the US State Department today suggests that the US has become a subordinate to an authoritarian quasi communist China of  PRC. The US allows the Chinese to keep on bullying the world with the lie that “Taiwan is part of China“. It is this American citizen's observation that when the leader of the free world lacks the will to hold on to the nation’s values, then terrorism would rise and flourish both domestically and abroad. Terrorism comes in all shapes, sizes and forms as bombers, gunmen or an aggressive expansionist state. Should we be held hostage by these terrorists who are using all kind of lies and weapons to dictate the future of the people in the world?

   If the US were to sign onto this contract of a "USA - China Inc" , will it be in the best interests of the US, Taiwan and the world including China? Of course not. That action would sell out the soul of the U.S. and declare the bankcruptcy of America’s credibility. The world would see the US as no more than a Chinese puppet. The US can only reclaim her leadership by re-examining herself and going back to her founding principles, the Constitution and laws of the land especially the Taiwan Relations Act. With the spirit of the Taiwan Relations Act, the US and the world should ask the PRC to withdraw those steadily increasing missiles that are aiming toward a non-nuclear almost defenseless Taiwan and renounce the use of force to resolve its disputes with Taiwan and other Asian nations. Furthermore, we should respect the univeral human right of the Taiwanese to establish a genuine Taiwanese government and nation. In that way, the Taiwanese could free themselves from nearly 70 years of political injustice and suffering. That is the most rational and peaceful way to end this nightmare and to avoid further conflict with a rising authoritarian "superpower."

  Would the US be considered as the problem of this world in the eyes of its enemies, terrorists or even friends? Are we Americans willing to stand up for a free and democratic Taiwan now and in the future? May the world say YES to Taiwan and NO to ROC and PRC! May the US be the leader of the free world always!

在美國國務院網站上面的中國地圖，人們可以很容易地得出結論，美國顯然已經根據中國的「一個中國的原則」，將台灣涵蓋在中華人民共和國的管轄範圍。不幸的是，如果今天在台灣進行一項獨立調查或全民公決，你會很容易地發現該地圖完全違背事實，剝奪了台灣人自決權與人權，也違背美國的國內法中的「台灣關係法」。

「台灣關係法」（TRA）是由美國國會發起中的，1979年4月10日由卡特總統簽署成為法律。該法律規定，台灣的和平與穩定是國際所關注的事宜，更是符合美國的政治，安全和經濟利益。在撰寫本文時，我們知道中國有1600多顆導彈正瞄準台灣，這明顯地違反了「台灣關係法」的精神──以和平方式解決台灣未來的期望。這些中國的導彈瞄準台灣的目的明顯是恐嚇台灣人民，阻止台灣人民進一步走向宣布台灣獨立建國，驅逐占領台灣的非法中華民國政權。

第二次世界大戰後，麥克阿瑟將軍令中國戰區的蔣介石代表盟軍來處理、接受在台灣日軍的投降。1945年美國軍艦載運蔣介石的軍隊到台灣，讓ROC（中華民國）非法占領台灣。國民黨和蔣介石為了壟斷在台灣所有的財政、經濟利益，1947年2月28日事件之後大規模屠殺台灣人民。據此，台灣人民忍受世界上最長期的戒嚴，共歷時38年(1949年至1987年)。台灣人開始覺醒，意識到他們需要尋求自己的命運，來保護他們的最佳利益。

2008年台灣人相信李登輝所說的馬英九是新台灣人，所以選擇了國民黨的馬英九當中華民國總統。2012年馬英九一再宣稱他是一個台灣人來騙取選票而再次當選。但是馬英九到目前所有執行的政策，一味的傾向中國，已使台灣人相信，他已經做好出賣台灣給中國的準備。尤其是在2010年馬英九與中國簽訂經濟合作框架協議（ECFA），使中國對台灣擁有經濟優勢，方便中國政治吸收台灣。馬英九在中華民國總統選舉中的勝利，只能反映了這一部“中華民國憲法”的不公正，讓中國國民黨有機會操縱台灣的政治和不公平的選舉。它不應該被解釋為台灣人民傾向中國，並接受中國併吞的意願。馬英九利用司法系統，不公平的迫害台灣主要反對黨民進黨的政治人物。中華民國前任總統陳水扁卸任以來，馬英九的黑手伸入司法系統，在沒有任何具體貪污的實質證據之下，拘禁陳水扁已經有五年之久，以非人道的方式折磨獄中的陳水扁，甚至無法保外就醫。馬英九已經成為當今世界上最不人道的“國家”領導人。更令人髮指的是用卑劣手段對付政敵案件。

我們認為真正的民主只能在一個真正自由、獨立的社會中才能生存及全面發展。今天的台灣擁有實現民主和獨立的條件，但是卻受到嚴重的阻礙。這個阻礙來自國民黨及其操作的外來政權「中華民國政府」。我們很難想像，美國會背叛台灣人民，因為美國曾用最大的心力，付出高昂的代價，建立了國內法律支持這一個小島上的人民。但是在今天美國國務院的中國地圖，卻標示著「台灣是中國的一部分」。美國顯然已經成為一個獨裁共產主義中國的下屬。美國竟然允許中國以這樣的謊言欺騙世界。這是美國公民的觀察：當自由世界的領導者缺乏維持國家的核心價值的意志，那麼恐怖主義會禍延國內外；當恐怖主義肆無忌憚的擴張，以任何手段、形式、武力、規模進行破壞侵略，我們是不是應該屈服在這些恐怖主義份子各種的謊言和武器之下，讓他們來決定人類的未來？

如果美國要簽署「美國 ─ 中國公司」的合約，應該思考這一份合約是否符合美國、台灣、中國甚至全世界的利益？如果不是，這樣的行為將出賣美國的靈魂，並宣布美國信用破產，世界將看到美國只不過是中國的傀儡。美國必須重新審視自我，重新回到她的領導者角色，遵循國家的憲法和法律，尤其是「台灣關係法」的基本原則。根據「台灣關係法」的精神，美國和世界應該要求中國撤回其不斷擴增的導彈，宣布放棄使用武力解決爭端、及對付幾乎手無寸鐵的台灣和其他亞洲國家。此外，我們應該尊重台灣人基本的人權，讓他們建立一個真正屬於台灣人民的政府和國家。如此，台灣才可以擺脫近70年的政治不公正和苦難。這是最文明、合理，且和平的方法來幫助台灣人結束這個噩夢，避免與正在崛起的獨裁「超級大國」進一步的衝突。

從國際間的角度來看，包括敵人、恐怖份子或是朋友，美國是不是成為世界上最大的問題端看咱美國人在現在和將來是否與自由、民主的台灣站在一起？希望全世界向台灣說是，向「中華民國」和「中華人民共和國」說不！願美國永遠是自由世界的領導者！
